Anti-Gay Republican arrested for DUI leaving gay bar
Family Values GOPer Was At Gay Club Before Drunk Driving Arrest
Zachary Roth | March 4, 2010, 9:17AM
A California Republican family values legislator who was arrested early Wednesday morning for drunk driving had recently left a gay club, sources tell a local news channel.
State senator Roy Ashburn was pulled over by the California Highway Patrol on Wednesday at 2am in Sacramento, after police saw the car he was driving swerving erratically. An unidentified male passenger was in the car with Ashburn.
The sources told CBS13 that Ashburn, a father of four, had that night been at Faces, which touts itself as "Sacramento's premier GLBTI Nightclub since 1985."
Ashburn was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, and driving with a blood alcohol level higher than .08 percent -- both misdemeanors. He was released from jail on $1400 bond.
Ashburn, who has a history of opposing gay rights, issued a contrite apology for the drunk driving arrest yesterday. "I am deeply sorry for my actions and offer no excuse for my poor judgment," he said in a statement. "I accept complete responsibility for my conduct and am prepared to accept the consequences for what I did."
Ashburn's Senate term ends this year. He represents parts of Kern and Tulare counties, in the central part of the state.

Speaking of gay
One of my friend of a friends was at the last Electrocity party and made out with a dude he thought was a chick for over 30 mins.
I think he's full of shit, but I want to look at the pics of the party to see if I can find the guy he is talking about and see how feminine he looks.
All I know is it was a petite black guy
Do yall think its possible to be pressed up against someone and not know what kind of parts they have?
Or is this just a wak cover story?

Re: Anti-Gay Republican arrested for DUI leaving gay bar
speaking of closeted gay legislators...
March 11, 2010 9:38 AM Pelosi's Office Heard Concerns about Eric Massa in October
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's office had heard concerns about former Rep. Eric Massa (D-N.Y.) as far back as October, according to reports.
The official House ethics committee investigation into sexual harassment allegations against Massa is over, now that he has resigned. Republicans, however, may press for more inquiry into how Democratic leadership handled reports of Massa's alleged misconduct.
There is no indication that Pelosi's office knew of allegations that Massa had improper physical contact with staffers before February, when House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer took the charges to the ethics committee, Politico reports. However, an aide to Pelosi acknowledged yesterday that Massa's chief of staff, Joe Racalto, told a member of Pelosi's staff in October that Massa had hired too many staff members, was living with several of them and used foul language around them.
Racalto was prompted to call Pelosi's office after he learned Massa made a lunch date with a young male staffer from Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.)'s office, the Washington Post reports, citing an unnamed source. Racalto was reportedly concerned Massa had a habit of "trying to spend time alone with young, gay men with no ostensible work purpose," according to the Post.
House GOP leaders met yesterday to discuss what actions to take with respect to the Massa allegations. The party may ask for the ethics committee to restart its investigation. In 2006, the committee decided to investigate the sexual harassment charges against former Rep. Mark Foley (R-Fla.) even after he had resigned from Congress, Republicans point out.
"If things were being equally treated, of course the probe would go on," Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) said, according to the Post.

Earlier in the week Massa was crying that the white house pushed him out because he was suddenly against the healthcare bill.
No, turns out you were being investigated for your ahem extra-boyicular activities.
I feel the most sympathy for the wives/children of these people.

Agreed. I can't imagine how many lives he's destroyed by not being true to who he really is and instead living a lie in order to deceive.
